State link – technology sector - productive and its contribution to innovation in INTA Nicaragua 2013 - 2018

The Nicaraguan Institute of Agricultural Technology INTA, established in 1993; since 2013 it has managed to focus on a dynamic oriented to research, innovation and technology transfer with a linking approach with the country’s scientific technology sector, with the productive sector and with all the institutions of the National System of Consumption and Trade Production. This trial shows the main results of technological processes during the period 2013 to 2018, the product of INTA’s link with a wide variety of international, national and local actors; highlighting efficient process and sub-processes especially in the generation of technologies, biotechnology, bio-sources, conventional and participatory breeding; and above all the link with the productive sector in Innovation Farms, Community Seed Banks, Technological Development Centers, Experimental Stations. Finally, emphasis is placed on the most inclusive elements of INTA’s linking strategy that evolves towards the specialization of links by item, thematic axes without ignoring production technology systems such as productive diversification the effects of climate variability.
