Abstract

The main objective of this research is to determine the administration of remittances and their effect on the standard of living of students in the department of Economic and Administrative Sciences of the Multidisciplinary Regional Faculty (FAREM Estelí), considering that no studies have been carried out on this subject in terms of the administration of remittances. According to the level of knowledge of this research is of a quantitative type, type of descriptive study, according to its purpose is applied and according to the temporal scope is cross-cutting. The sample is made up of students from the faculty’s economics department in their different careers and sessions. Data collection techniques were: survey and surveys which were applied to students and interviews with shipping agency managers and commercial banks. The main results obtained which give rise to the objectives set, thus knowing the place of origin of the students, the country of origin of the remittances, as well as the priority that is given to them, in concepts of savings, investment, building housing, own business, youth entrepreneurship, health, education. Regarding the effect of remittances on the standard of living of students refers that receiving them and carrying out their administration manages to have better and greater access to vocational training, thus improving their economic status therefore their quality and standard of living.
