Public policies on school violence in Latin America

Abstract

This article aims to identify Public policies on school violence in Latin America, since this phenomenon is considered a public health problem that requires treatment by the State and non-governmental organizations. The method of documentary analysis was applied, with a qualitative approach, non-experimental design, under a transversal bibliographic documentary level. After the documentary review it was observed that; school violence in Latin America has been increasing in recent years, due to the political, social and economic problems that the region is been through, which have been moving to schools, also, it was found that in Latin America a total Seventeen countries have developed laws or programs aimed at solving the problem. It is concluded that although there are public policies aimed at the treatment of school violence, these have not improved the situation however in recent years it has been increasing, due to how the countries focus their laws or programs.
