The energy audit is an advisory service that aims to analyze the energy situation of public lighting installations, in order to evaluate and determine their efficiency. The audit carried out aims to obtain a preliminary view of the energy status of public lighting in the western part of the capital Managua, Nicaragua; and thus make proposals for improvement that imply significant energy and economic savings. As a result of the audit, poor luminaire disposition, lack of supervision and maintenance have been obtained, and there is no specific law in the country. This work will serve to guide the managers of these facilities in making decisions when undertaking future reforms. And that these investments that are potentially made in this type of facilities have the quality of service, energy optimization, economic savings, and correct control policies.
