Abstract

Research that aims to analyze the administrative process of the family business Modas Rosibel located in Ciudad Dario, to propose strategies for improving the administrative process. The research defines three theoretical issues: the administrative process (planning, organization, human resources, management, and control), family business, and strategies. This research is qualitative. In the field research, the following was applied: observation of the activities in the different processes of the business and interviews with different collaborators and the manager. As a result, the operation of a small family business of quick growth is demonstrated. Its strengths are identified: quality control of the products, group work, and technical knowledge of the collaborators; and its weaknesses in the administrative process such as lack of objectives and well-established goals, a poor delegation of responsibilities, inflexibility to change in administrative strategies, and poor cost control. We propose strategies focused on improving internal information management, staff training, and taking advantage of opportunities such as agreements with other companies.
