THE EVALUATION: A NECESSARY REFLECTION
Abstract
Evaluation has been stressing and unpleasant activity, particularly for learners. The process we developed are not always in favor of learning, nor do they occur as a result of a pedagogic reflection. Nevertheless, this could be different, if instead of measuring or grading, we try to develop analytical, creative, and productive processes during the academic year, and not in the exam. Also, it demands responsibility, reliability, and effectiveness. Therefore, it is crucial that educators fulfill this task by reflecting on how we have been applying the evaluation in our educational context, it has a strategic value for overcoming its limitations. In summary, evaluation of any learning process from a constructivist approach favors the reflexive, critical, long-lasting and profound learning. Hence, It is necessary to generate changes in our pedagogical practice for the continuous improvement of this important evaluation process.
