Abstract

The results of the experience among the Multidisciplinary Regional Faculty of Estelí and the peri-urban community El Limón are presented in this study. The exchange of knowledge for joint analysis and reflection on capital, livelihoods, the current use of natural resources and adapttionn measuress for climate change are highlighted. This was an experience that was carried out in an open call project of the Central American University Superior Council, auspicied by the Swiss Cooperation for Central America. The objective of the impact was the creation of a model of participatory interaction among the academy and the surrounding rural communities. This study was carroed through a participatory socio-environmental diagnosis, participatory researches based on real demands, and the development of a strategy for adaptation to climate change. This experience allows the beginning of a process of interaction among the university and society as one of the tasks of the academy.
