This essay is a compilation of the experience in planning, organization, execution, and evaluation of the first forum on economic development, organized by fourth and fifth-year students Economics. It was the result of linking the optative subjects and development economics taught in the first semester of 2019. It describes the methodology used for all stages of the forum and the main challenges encountered along the way. Likewise, it is a reflection on the importance of promoting this type of event not only for those majoring in economics but also for all students to motivate them to develop skills, abilities, and necessary competences.
