Technology and reading comprehension. A pre-experimental study in basic education

The objective of this study was to determine the influence of the Edu.Reader Program in improving the reading comprehension of students of an educational institution in Lima; 29 third year high school students participated. The methodology used was quantitative, basic and with a pre-experimental design. The intervention contemplated the use of Kahoot, the data collection considered a pretest and post test consisting of 25 items, which measured the literal, inferential and criterial dimensions of reading comprehension. The results showed progress in the levels of understanding, reaffirming the premise that new technologies can be used effectively for educational purposes.
