Abstract

This position essay it is intended to establish the main benefits of the practice of art and dance in the student life, mainly in the university environment of the Regional Multidisciplinary Faculty of Estelí, of the National Autonomous University of Nicaragua, Managua. It is intended, above all, to expose how dance contributes to the development of physical and emotional abilities and skills, which in turn contribute to obtaining a better academic performance and subsequently to a successful professional practice. Some of these benefits are the strengthening of values, such as tolerance, discipline, responsibility, solidarity. In addition, the acquisition of skills such as activity planning, teamwork, management, time management, group management, among others. But the main impact that dance can leave is the balance of the mood and emotional states that are seriously affected by the confinement. These effects are more notable when we speak of a context marked by coexistence with the COVID 19 pandemic. Therefore, this institution has faced this new reality in a dynamic and creative way, not without neglecting the biosecurity standards so important that must be applied in these new times. On the contrary, opening these spaces for their maximum use due to their significant contribution to the individual and to the community.
