Abstract

The present article narrates the foundation and development of arts education in Nicaragua, taking as a key point the creative and dynamic character of the different authors who have promoted the importance of the conception and cultural identity of this nation. It also describes the reasons that allowed for the incorporation of arts education in school curricula, from political and social ideologies to the needs of Nicaraguan arts culture. Another relevant aspect is the articulation of the educational subsystems according to the educational improvement in the formation of an innovative society and promoter of its cultural identity.
