Environmental education strategy for the training of the Civil Construction Technician of the Polytechnic Institute of Construction 26 de julio, Holguin, Cuba

Abstract

One of the main challenges of the Technical and Professional Education is to achieve that the students of the Medium Technician in Civil Construction of the Polytechnic Institute of Construction 26 de julio de Holguín, Cuba, reach an environmental education in the constructive processes. However, there is evidence of insufficient knowledge, limited perception, poor sensitivity and inadequate behavior to identify and solve professional problems during the execution of works. For this reason, an environmental education strategy is designed for their training from the subject Execution of Construction Works I, which is where the necessary skills to be achieved by the student are created, from the integration of the environmental requirements of the investment process of construction, during teaching, practice and research. For this purpose, a sample of 40 students is selected by means of intentional sampling because it is a small population, and the same volume of the population is assumed. A group of theoretical, empirical and statistical methods are used for its elaboration and validation, which allowed qualitative transformations by evidencing greater understanding, explanation and interpretation of the meaning of the appropriation of environmental contents as a way to solve the professional problems present in their modes of action.
